NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA GLOBAL THERMAL THINK TANK RECAP
Innovation comes from inspiration
In June, 25 Hot Springs Association members from the United States joined leaders from around the world on an exclusive industry-specific field trip to New Zealand and southern Australia. This unique opportunity brought together hot springs owners, operators, and senior managers within the geothermal resort industry, fostering collaboration and driving innovation in the field.
Over the course of ten days, the group visited a total of 14 geothermal locations, immersing themselves in unique and captivating landscapes, cultural experiences and locational highlights. The participants not only toured these hot springs but also experienced their rejuvenating properties firsthand. As part of this collective experience the group celebrated World Bathing Day together in song and soaking at several properties throughout the day.
One of the highlights of the trip was the G3T Hot Springs Symposium. The symposium featured presentations and discussions by experts in the industry. Topics covered included hot springs-centered wellness communities, planning guides for hot springs development, growth through collaboration and Maori culture in Rotorua, social and economic impacts of hot springs, longitudinal studies on hot springs' contributions to well-being, hot springs design and architecture, investment opportunities, updates on the hot springs industry in different regions, and experiences related to hot springs.
The trip offered a platform for like-minded geothermal resort enthusiasts to connect and share their knowledge and experiences. By bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and expertise, the event facilitated the exchange of ideas and the exploration of innovative practices within the industry.
